Why Bamboo?

The Wonderplant Bamboo!
Bamboo is the worlds fastest growing grass in the world. According to guiness world record it can grow up to 90 cm in a day! Bamboo         re-grows without replanting and can be harvested every year!

Good for the environment
Bamboo creates 30% more oxygen than trees and one hectare of bamboo gives 30 times more fiber pulp per year compared to same area of trees.
Bamboo is naturally antibacterial and does not need fertilizers, pesticides or chemicals for it to grow.

Kind Production
Producing bamboo paper requires less water and electricity than conventional toilet paper. Our facilities are certified with international standards and we don’t use any chlorine or bleach in our production.

Deforestation
They say that trees are the lungs of the planet, and that they are vital for our survival. Yet we harvest 27,000 trees everyday (83 million rolls), which results in 15% of the worlds deforestation of trees!
To rebalance nature we have decided to replant one tree for every purchased Hempur product

Bamboo the future Fiber of the world
In the year 2030, we will increase our population to 10 billion people, which results in a 40% increase in usage of toilet paper. We believe that bamboo is the best alternative that can meet the growing demand and yet be kind to nature at the same time.

FSC
FSC is a global non-profit organization that promotes environmentally friendly, socially beneficial and economically viable management of the world’s forests. Through certifications, FSC creates an incentive for forest owners and managers to follow best social and environmental practices. This incentive provides direct benefits to forests, such as biodiversity protection, the rights of indigenous peoples, workers’ rights and areas of significant environmental or cultural importance. FSC certification guarantees that products come from well-managed forests that provide environmental, social and economic benefits.

The chain of storage certification applies to manufacturers, processors and traders of FSC-certified forest products. The FSC Chain of Custody certification verifies that FSC certified material is identified or kept segregated from non-certified or unregulated material through this chain.

Controlled Wood is designed so that organizations can avoid the categories of wood being considered unacceptable. Controlled Wood is material that can be mixed with certified material in the manufacture of FSC mix products. This has enabled manufacturers to handle low and fluctuating deliveries of FSC-certified forest products, while demand for FSC-certified wood arises

BSCI
The Business Social Compliance Initiative (BSCI) is a leading supply chain management system that supports companies to drive social compliance and improvements within the factories and farms in their global supply chains. BSCI implements the principle international labour standards protecting workers’ rights such as International Labor Organization (ILO) conventions and declarations, the United Nations (UN) Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights and guidelines for multinational enterprises of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).

Why BSCI Exists?
In the context of globalisation, retailers, importers and brands source products from supplying companies around the world. Many of them are located in countries where national laws protecting workers are inadequate or poorly enforced. To address this, many companies and associations have created individual codes of conduct and their own implementation systems.

ISO 9001
ISO 9001 is an organization has met the requirements in ISO 9001, which defines an ISO 9001 Quality Management System (QMS). ISO 9001 evaluates whether your Quality Management System is appropriate and effective, while forcing you to identify and implement improvements.
Continuous improvement assures your customers benefit by receiving products/services that meet their requirement, and that you deliver consistent performance. Internally, the organization will profit from increased job satisfaction, improved morale, and improved operational results (reduced scrap and increased efficiency).

ISO 14001
ISO 14001:2015 specifies the requirements for an environmental management system that an organization can use to enhance its environmental performance. ISO 14001:2015 is intended for use by an organization seeking to manage its environmental responsibilities in a systematic manner that contributes to the environmental pillar of sustainability.

ISO 14001:2015 helps an organization achieve the intended outcomes of its environmental management system, which provide value for the environment, the organization itself and interested parties. ISO 14001:2015 is applicable to any organization, regardless of size, type and nature, and applies to the environmental aspects of its activities, products and services that the organization determines it can either control or influence considering a life cycle perspective. ISO 14001:2015 does not state specific environmental performance criteria.
